About Badgerfest

Badgerfest was founded in 2016 with a lot of love and help from our friends. Our goal was quite simply to create the greatest party-in-a-field that we could imagine… a colourful, creative, inclusive freedom-space, a place where the Thatchers flows like wine!

Badgerfest is a beautiful place, where everybody is welcome.
Whether a hardened festival-goer, a first-timer, a little un or elder statesman…
"We are the technicolor children of the cosmos! Come dance with us."
Danny Hammond, September 2016

At the very heart of Badgerfest is the music

It is our great privilege to curate two days of the absolute finest, most original and exciting array of musicians… some of the hardest working bands you will ever see.

These guys have been performing incredible, entertaining and underpaid shows across the land for many years and exciting crowds on the biggest festival stages in the UK and Europe. From Boomtown to Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party to Shambala and from Italy and the Netherlands to Croatia and back again... the list goes on!

Many of these guys regularly sell out venues in Bristol on their own, but we’ve got them all here, on one stage, the Badgerfest main stage.

Badgerfest: The last great party of the summer

Another thing that makes Badgerfest so special is when it is.

Badgerfest is in September, and it always will be… the last great party of the summer.

Part of what makes it so special is that many of the bands involved will have been extremely busy over the summer months, performing and partying at festivals all over the country. The bands are in-flow, sharper and tighter than ever, and most of all they are really happy to be back in Bristol playing a gig to all of their fans and friends.

What else…

Well …it wouldn't be Badgerfest without doing something to challenge our perceptions and spread the love. This year, we will host our new stage, THE LOST CHILD OF PASSION, named in honour of our fallen brother, an inspirational performance poet and all-round unique hoooman, Vijay Singh, who is sadly no longer with us.

This stage is the spiritual home of Badgerfest and will hold poetry and spoken word, comedy, acoustic sets and even some magic.  If you would like to get involved please get in touch via our contact page. 😃

And finally, and perhaps most importantly, all proceeds will be going to Velindre Cancer Charity, read more about the work they do here.
